Mangart rises on the border between Slovenia and Italy, in the far north of the Julian Alps. Our takeoff sits at 1,941 m beside the Mangart Saddle road, the highest road in Slovenia, reached by driving up from the Koritnica valley.

It is our highest launch, and the flight is a big one: you lift off in high-alpine terrain and descend more than 1,300 metres to land at Log pod Mangartom on the valley floor, the great north faces of the Julian Alps filling the skyline.

What you'll see

  • Our highest takeoff, at 1,941 m off the Mangart Saddle road
  • Over 1,300 m of vertical down to Log pod Mangartom
  • The high Julian Alps and the Italian border ridges all around
  • The wild Koritnica valley far below

Conditions & timing

Mangart is a high-alpine site: it flies in settled conditions in the warmer months, when the Mangart road is open and the winds aloft are light. We watch the forecast and confirm on the day. Flights land at Log pod Mangartom, in the valley below the takeoff.
