Why this project
The Bovec area faces pronounced seasonal swings in tourism, which leaves providers uncertain and limits employment opportunities.
The project sets out to change that with activities that bring the local community to life in the quieter months too, and that encourage the use of the area's natural and cultural assets.
By involving local producers, craftspeople, tourism workers and visitors, the project builds new opportunities for cooperation, greater environmental responsibility and the long-term development of the area.
Project goals
- Fill the low tourist season and support the development of the local community
- Strengthen sustainable development through innovative economic models
- Involve digital nomads in local life, encouraging cultural exchange and entrepreneurship
- Promote local cuisine
- Encourage sport and outdoor activities (hiking, water sports, mushroom foraging and more)
- Organise environmental actions to reduce waste
- Offer the experience of farm life on a working farm
- Take part in promoting sustainable fashion and the circular economy
Expected results
- 1One newly created job
- 2A newly established partnership and network between the partners
- 3Events that directly involve the local population
- 4New products: a digital recipe brochure, a good-practice model that can be transferred to other areas, and a new form of community event
- 5More than 150 people actively involved from different target groups

The project is implemented under the CLLD approach (Community-Led Local Development), supported by the European Union and the Republic of Slovenia through the European Regional Development Fund.
